Mental Health Community Partners
What are Mental Health Community Partner Services?
The Mental Health Community Partners (MHCP) Program at MHA is a family and community approach to mental health. It brings together a person in recovery and their chosen partners (family, partners, friends, caregivers, spiritual/faith leaders, community members, or anyone who supports you) in the same room to all learn about mind-body health. A certified Mental Health Community Partner will support you and your family/chosen family in building a culture of wellness, navigating mental health and recovery, sustaining recovery in the community and preventing re-hospitalization. This is a 90 day program for participants ages 12+.
Each week, you’ll learn a new wellness activity:
Communications Guidelines
Continuum of Wellness
Dimensions of Wellness

Identifying Our Strengths
MHCP is a project of the Mental Health Association in NYS and funded by the NYS Office of Mental Health.
A Family & Community Approach
The mental health of a loved one impacts us all. That’s why the Mental Health Community Partners (MHCP) brings together a person in recovery and their chosen supports in the same room to learn about mind-body-health.
Family Culture Is Our Strength
Explore how your family/chosen family and culture influence your health. Self-identify how your unique family culture already supports wellness and can further support your well-being.
It’s Ok To Talk About Mental Health
Your certified Mental health Community Partner will help your family/chosen family navigate tough conversations about mental health and recovery. MHCP is a non-clinical program that goes beyond diagnosis and illness and instead focuses on the mind-body health for all.
