The Jenkins Training and Education Center is space where the MHATC can host or provide peer run support groups, activities such as writing, arts and crafts classes, as well as education workshops and special events. The center is comprised of a large training room, a group meeting room, and several quiet rooms.

The Jenkins Training and Education Center is also where you can meet one-on-one with a NY state Certified Peer Specialist. Peer Specialists share their knowledge, offer emotional support, teach skills, provide practical assistance, and connect people with resources and opportunities.
In behavioral health, peers offer their unique lived experience with mental health conditions to provide support focused on advocacy, education, mentoring, and motivation.
Peer Specialists also work one-on-one as role models, mentors, coaches and advocates and support people in developing psychiatric advance directions and creating Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP). Please call 607 273-9250 to schedule an appointment. At this time for the safety of our staff and community, we are not accepting walk-ins. There is no fee for our peer services.

To inquire about using our training space or if you have interest in leading a peer support group, please call Donna Nedrow at (607) 277-7337 or email her at JenkinsCenter@mhaedu.org.
