The Mental Health Association in Tompkins County is currently seeking applicants for the following paid positions:

RESPITE WORKER (part-time): Primary responsibility is to provide socialization and skill building activities for children with/or who have a parent with a diagnosed mental illness. Children range in age from 3-18 years old. Activities may involve visits to museums, parks, movies, gyms, restaurants and/or other venues that foster age-appropriate emotional and social growth.

Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must consent to a fingerprint/background checks as required and be cleared.
Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
Must enjoy working with children.
Ability to serve as a positive role model for children.
Experience working with children.
Experience working with Serious Emotionally Disturbed children preferred.

Responsibilities:
Plan and implement activities to provide the child you are matched with.
Maintain daily evaluations as well as the completion of any necessary paperwork.
Attend all required staff meetings and trainings
Maintain a pleasant and professional work relationship with the participants and their families, caseworkers and all MHATC staff members.
